My name is Marie Dal Porto and I am an "Artsy Fartsy" Nerdfighter. (;
I am also very into gaming, specifically with World of Warcraft. I have many alts, but my main is an Undead Warlock. I enjoy getting achievements, mounts, pets, etc more than anything else in the game, though I am a serious player as well.
So much has happened recently. First some Imma developments. Imma went to Stormwind to train after dinging level 32. There was a level 80 druid around that area, and he informed me that I needed a head piece but that all my other gear was good. I replied that I definitely needed a head item, and then he said to meet him at the Auction House. o___o I had no idea that he would be generous enough to buy me a helm; I wasn't expecting any kind of gesture like that. This insanely nice guy then gives me the helm he just bought, along with 10 gold. As you can see from the screenshot, I was very thankful. So thank you Darriss, noble Night Elf Druid. I may be "for the Horde", but you've earned major points for Alliance.
After that good fortune, I was able to play with my friend Byron for the first time. :D He recently transferred his Draenei Priest (Vampired) to Kul Tiras so he could level with Imma. I'm a bit sad that he's "for the Alliance", but he has a baby Blood Elf warlock that he'll eventually level, so he may be playing alongside Zila one day. Anyways, we both had multiple quests for the Stockades, so we decided to two-man it-- Imma tanking, Vampired healing. I was pretty skeptical of the idea at first, but... we rocked. There were some scary moments (Those defias dudes can really run!) and one wipe, but other than that, we made it through the whole place successfully, earning an achievement and finishing our quests. I'm getting more confident with Druid tanking. I'm specced as a hybrid dps/tank, and I think I'll start signing up to tank more. I'm liking it more than I thought I would.
I also want to take the time to praise Byron. He is a dynamite healer, even though he's specced Shadow. If you're on Kul Tiras and have a toon in the level 30s, I highly suggest calling on Vampired if you're looking for a badass priest to group with. The really amazing thing is, this is his first toon ever. I know that I was never as good as him when I first started. xD He'll be amazing at 80.
Gushing over my brilliant friend aside, I played on Zila late last night because.... NOBLEGARDEN STARTED! Yes. The time has come once again for Zila to go into "crazy mode". Holiday achievements are "srs bsns" to me, because since the achievements began around Hallow's End, I have not failed to get Zila each Holiday title. You can bet that she'll be flying around on that beautiful Violet Proto Drake come September. Anyways, Zila is just two achievements away from the title already. xD So far she has: [I Found One!], [Desert Rose], [Noble Garden], [Chocoholic], [Blushing Bride], and [Shake Your Bunny-Maker]. Zila just needs to pair up with a friend and go on down to Un Goro to complete [Hard Boiled]. Then I plan to search through more eggs in case I get lucky and find a Spring Rabbit. If not, I'll just buy one with my next 100 Chocolates, and get [Spring Fling]. I don't see why I wouldn't get the Noble title today. :) I'll be posting after that happens.
Much has happened as of late. :D First, Zila went on a Naxx 25 run (only got through Arachnid and part of Military) and got Faerlina's Madness. I'm super excited, since I needed an epic head piece. Now I just need to replace my robe...
Then I got Imma to level 30. (My highest level Alliance toon ever!) I've always wanted a kitty mount, so I'm very excited about her Spotted Frostsaber. :D
Then today... I had a very lovely surprise when I clicked on my Cracked Egg. I GOT THE REINS OF THE GREEN PROTO DRAKE!!! :'D I'd been farming that baby for weeks now.
Look at iiiiiit. So pretty. <3333

Just a little moment of "squee"ing for me. :'D It was the THIRD kill. I feel so lucky.
So lots of things have happened lately. The new patch has been super exciting. :D First of all, Zila went and got all three of those new level 30 mounts for the Horde: White Kodo, Black Wolf, Black Skeletal Warhorse. Her mount count is now at 55. Her egg from the Oracles also hatched and she got the other Tickbird hatchling. I want that mount, though. Hopefully it'll be in this next egg!
I'm also very fond of the mounts swimming now. Makes it so much nicer when traveling short distances in water, especially when you misjudge the deepness of puddles. Look at my wolfie paddle. :D
I also checked out the brand new Argent Tournament. It's very cool, and let me just tell y'all right now, I'm getting all of those Horde mounts from it. Yup. I love all the new colors for them, though the kodo is lacking (as always); they have to get crazier colors for those things. Or at least interesting patterns. Zila also got the achievement [A Simple Re-Quest] (finally!) for sticking with her cooking daily.
I finally gave the new patch excitement a break and played my baby druid Imma for a while. She accomplished many things! She's more specced for dps, but successfully tanked RFK, making a new friend in the process: Elethia, a great healer. The group that I ran with all praised me on my tanking, which made me super happy, because I'm a bit of a tanking noob. xD She dinged 28 during that run, and is well on her way to 29.
Imma also tore up Warsong Gulch, getting three achievements: [Capture the Flag], [Quick Cap], and [Warsong Expedience]. She would have also gotten her [Iron Man], but she died once in that battle.
And that's about it for now, guys. I hope to go to Ulduar soon, but... with Zila's gear, that's probably not going to happen very soon. xD Though I am super happy that Demonology got improved. I also put more talent points in Destruction so maybe I can go back to doing mainly fire spells, because I loved the damage I got with that. We'll see.
I finally got some Baby Spice from the Dalaran cooking daily the other day. :) So cute. Look at ickle Zila. <3>
I spent some time on my hunter Baniel today. He went on a lovely Zul'Farrak run, gaining the achievement, as well as completing five quests. He dinged 51 after turning them all in. :) He also danced with someone transformed into an arakkoa. I'm loving that dance.
Today, I was also able to go with a small raid group to Blackrock to kill 50 whelps and gain the Jenkins title. We were quite successful. :D
Today, I decided to spend some time on my death knight, Shyama. She is just so much fun. As you can see, she got a cute little Wood Frog pet today, while she was leveling up professions in Mulgore and decided to stop on by the Dark Moon Faire. She got two achievements from hanging out in Mulgore today: [Can I Keep Him?] and [Explore Mulgore].
Shyama also went through Mana-Tombs today as a tank. I've never tanked as a death knight before, and have little experience in tanking in general; plus, Shyama is specced blood. Despite that fact, she actually did rather well tanking and kept aggro just fine and with no wipes. :)
Later, she was invited to go to Sethekk Halls just dpsing. This was quite a "fail run", because the tank was a bit of a noob and we wiped multiple times. We did manage to do the entire instance, though.
And finally, she dinged 68, which means that she can officially go to Northrend now. I think I'm going to pay proper respect to the previous Burning Crusade expansion, though, and level her to 70 in Outlands. It'll make Northrend leveling go by much more smoothly too, I think.
Forgot to mention that I entered a contest from Blizzard. It's to win a copy of the new novel Arthas: Rise of the Lich King, and all you have to do is read an excerpt from it and answer a few questions afterward.
It's so easy to do, and I really loved the little snippet I read, so whether I win or not, I plan on getting my hands on a copy of that book. Wish me luck, though! ;)
Today, I witnessed something incredible and disturbing. I can only assume that this one player had a multi-alt add-on that allowed him to do this, but he was on five alts at once. They were all the same model, had matching names, and were on the same mounts. It was TERRIFYING. My mind was just... screwed over.
Grats, Tyraels. You managed to freak me out big time. (Excuse my language in the PST.)
This was just a funny conversation my guild had after I observed that, in a rare moment, I was the only level 80 on. So my fellow guildies started to "worship" my awesome strength.
A final achievement that I got today but never screencapped was [Not Even a Scratch] from the battleground Strand of the Ancients.
Before I get into daily accomplishments, I want to do a couple screencap spams of files I've had lying around and never got to share before.
So let the "Silly Spam" begin!
A nice guild collaboration on the One Ring poem.
That's a heavy load for my poor drake.
A couple silly drake bugs. Sitting and flying!
My friend and I are leveling our Bloodelf priest and paladin together as a "gay couple", and I found this image to be amazing. xD Oh, baby. Spank session.
When I got turned into an arakkoa, I couldn't resist /dancing.
Hello all. I feel an introduction is in order before this blog begins.
I am a female gamer who is very much addicted to World of Warcraft. My real name is Marie, but you may all refer to me as Zila or Z. Zila is my main; she is a level 80 Undead Warlock on the PvE server Kul Tiras. (For the Horde!)
As you can see by my armory so far, I am not amazingly geared out just yet, but I am definitely getting there. Getting geared is very nice, but I know that gear gets outdated quickly, so it's never been a main goal of mine.
My main love in WoW is getting achievements, mounts, pets, all that "useless" stuff. I am quite the gold whore as well, and am currently sitting on... well... a good amount. xD I am also the proud owner of an Albino Drake from the achievement [Leading the Calvary]. I have 52 mounts so far (the 52nd is the War Bear from [For the Horde]).
The guild I belong to (Bring Out Your Dead) is incredible. Not that we are an "epic raiding guild" or anything like that, but we are very close knit and made up of wonderful, awesome people. Our guild master is actually a middle-aged woman, which is very empowering for a fellow female gamer.
I am also an "altoholic" and have way too many, so there will be updates on those as well.
The goal I have in mind for this blog is mostly to pat myself on the back for various things I accomplish in the game, and also to geek out about things involving WoW, post funny screenshots of conversations, etc.
I also encourage anyone who decides to read this blog to respond with their own experiences. I love sharing. :)
